Hide all Icons in the notification area

System tray also known as the notification area, is the small area on the far right side of the taskbar which contains the time alongwith programs that run in the background. Although it notifies about ongoing programs, we do not use it so frequently as to keep it over there. There is a method to hide all the icons that are being displayed in the system tray.
Follow the following steps:

1) Go to Start>Run>regedit
2) Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer
3) Now in the right pane create a new DWORD value and name it – NoTrayItemsDisplay
4) Double click it and set a value 1 to it. (Setting the value to 0 will display the icons)
5) Exit registry and reboot

USSD is actually very old technology but its gaining momentum now i mean USSD is now widely used in applications like Mobile VAS(Value added services),Mobile banking etc.t is a capability built into the GSM standard for support of transmitting information over the signaling channels of the GSM network.

USSD stands for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data its a session based technology which does not store any data on Mobile Station.You may dialed no like *123# ,say for balance enquiry, the flash screen displayed is nothing but USSD message.
Technology:
Unlike SMS, USSD is usually a menu based application.To initialize USSD application user has to dial certain numbers in from *991# ,*101*2#,these numbers are called service numbers. USSD applications are faster than SMS because of the session-based feature of USSD, and because it is NOT a store and forward service.Unstructured Supplementary Services Data (USSD) works on all existing GSM mobile phones.Both SIM Application Toolkit and the Wireless Application Protocol support USSD.

USSD is defined within the GSM standard in the documents GSM 02.90 (USSD Stage 1) and GSM 03.90 (USSD Stage 2).You can download this specification from ESTI documentation website or 3gpp.org
Working Of USSD:
It uses signalling channels to transmit bi-directional data between the mobile and the application defined by the operator.For a content provider, USSD can be somewhat problematic. In technical terms, a USSD service requiresa USSD application which needs to be tailored to a particular USSD gateway/center located in the mobile operator’s network.
Therefore, a content provider needs to find a suitable technical or aggregation partner.Aggregation partner here refers to company which provide USSD gateway service.USSD gateway consist of hardware like Switch and software.Software part is protocol stack to connect to signalling system.It can be TCAP/MAP/USSD.There is also a application server to host application.Connection to application servers is made via a well-defined
interface using the HTTP or SMPP protocol. USSD
applications can also be build upon the USSD
Gateway programming language or by Voice Objects
Phone Application Server.

Advantage of the USSD System:

* Innovative solution that fully exploits USSD technology via a browser menu.
* Immediate pull and push of services (quicker than SMS),
* Ease of use for the subscriber,
* Easy to validate for the operator,
* Longer messages than with an SMS,
* Easy extension possibilities (each node can handle between 25 and 600 USSD dialogues per second),
* Service that can be used by 99.99% of mobiles.

In our last post we had introduced Google Wave, this post will ellaborate it more. We recently came across the video Google Wave Developer Preview at Google I/O 2009, search engine giant making its multifaceted service more useful. Google wave like any another Google product its awsome and Open Source. For Google the hope is that Wave, once it’s more widely available, will replace competing communications services such as e-mail, instant messaging, and possibly even social networks such as Facebook. Its developed by same Google boys who developed Google Maps. We must mention their name here- Lars Rasmussen and his brother Jens Rasmussen.

Combining instant messaging, e-mail, and real-time collaboration, Wave is an early form of so-called real-time communication designed to make it easier for people to work together or interact socially over the Internet. Venture Capital firms are considering investing in developers who are creating add-ons for Wave. Since May, when Wave was introduced, developers have created hundreds of add-ons for the service. A handful, including some from software vendors SAP and salesforce.com, have been tested but are not yet available to customers.

So lets see what wave is actually,

Wave is application which will run in your browser. You can create an element of communication so called Wave for communicating with your buddies and friends. Its not necessary to be online to participate in wave. Suppose two friends are communicating ,Joe and john, now Jill want to join. She connects to them by just joining their wave. She can see what Joe & John talked so far. Now if there is something secret between Joe & John ,wave provides you such a facility that allows secret conversation between two in a group.

Another unbelievable feature in wave is real time typing. This feature will allow user to read in real time what the next person is typing. So forget sluggish messages like Joe is typing….Joe is typing…. All other popular technologies like Google maps,Twitter,Picasa,Blogger can easily be connected to wave.

Real time translation is also part of it.So talking in foreign language will be easy like never before.You must also check out the auto-correct option, which performs real time auto-correction.

There are lots of opportunity for developers too.
